On Saturday 5th June I went to THE ROSES THEATRE, Tewkesbury to see MADDY PRIOR (ex-STEELEYE SPAN) perform solo numbers some of which were old Steeleye songs.

The line-up for the band was:-

• MADDY PRIOR - Vocals
• TROY DONOCKLEY - Uilleann Pipes / Electric & Acoustic Guitars / Low & Tin Whistles / Cittern / Backing Vocals
• NICK HOLLAND - Keyboards / Backing Vocals

I liked the concert immensely and instantly liked the WITH NAPOLEON IN RUSSIA Suite, and IN THE COMPANY OF RAVENS Suite, which both come off the new album called RAVENCHILD, which I bought in the interval. I also liked the way Maddy would tell you the story behind the songs.

The decision to go to the concert was very last minute in that I only booked the ticket in the morning but I felt I had to go as I had been to the farewell to STEELEYE SPAN concert in 1997.
